The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the NFL world on Thursday night after they acquired running back Jordan Howard from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a conditional 2020 draft pick.
After the trade was finalized, it appeared Jay Ajayi’s time in Philadelphia was coming to an end. Ajayi made it all but official by posting a photo of himself in an Eagles uniform, complete with a “peace out” emoji.

It’s certainly a bittersweet moment for Ajayi, who was acquired by the Eagles at the 2017 trade deadline from the Miami Dolphins to solidify their playoff push.
Ajayi’s presence was a welcomed one, as he was an unstoppable freight train against opposing defenses. As a result, Ajayi won his first ever Super Bowl with the Eagles.

However, the partnership would end early last season after the veteran suffered a torn ACL in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings. Knee injuries are difficult for running backs, which explains why Ajayi’s still on the open market and why the Eagles made the move for Howard.
It’s not all doom and gloom for Ajayi, as he will certainly find a landing spot prior to the start of the regular season.
